Our political work
Politics matters to trade unionists as all the rights and protections we value so dearly were achieved through political action. From the minimum wage to the working week directive, to equal pay and maternity leave, we are proudly political and everything we have been able to accomplish.
Whatever you do, we are striving to make your experiences at work better – to give you more rights, more access to government resources, better pay and the respect you deserve at work – you name it, we’re working on it.
In our over century of history, we’ve achieved a lot for our members. Find out more about our achievements here.
Community in Parliament
We are proud of our links with the Labour Party and what we have been able to achieve in our partnership together. Community members are representatives in local, national and devolved politics, upholding our values and fighting for a better working world. See our list of elected representatives here.
We work with a wide variety of other organisations to advocate on behalf of our members. You can see a list of our partner organisations here.
