Teachers, tutors, and lecturers
As dedicated professionals, teachers, tutors, and lecturers play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of children and teenagers. Together with our thousands of members working across the education sector, we are campaigning to secure the pay and recognition that all teachers, tutors, and lecturers deserve, as well as tackle the recruitment and retention crisis affecting the sector.
At Community, we represent all types of educators including:
- Student teachers
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
- Early years, primary and secondary teachers
- Special educational needs teachers
- Personal tutors
- Headteachers, principals and leaders
- Lecturers, researchers, and mentors
The impact of teachers, tutors and lecturers is undeniable, but the challenges that they all face are substantial, ranging from heavy workloads and ever-changing curriculums to mental health, burnout, and low pay.
That is why our specialised education and early years team are always on hand to support you and advocate for fair wages, improved working conditions, access to continued professional development, securing better policies and much more. In 2020, Voice, the union for education professionals joined the Community family, and with it, brought centuries of experience and knowledge.
No matter what challenge or issue you are facing at work, we will be there to guide you.
