Community has signed a new voluntary recognition agreement with leading responsible business charity, Business in the Community. The two parties hope that the partnership brings benefits for all involved including, most importantly, those people working at the charity.
Amanda Mackenzie OBE, Chief Executive of Business in the Community, said: “This new partnership is a great opportunity. Having a strong employee voice is an important part of any responsible business and I am very much looking forward to finding out the ways in which BITC and Community can support each other”.
Adrian Axtell, National Officer with responsibility for the third sector at Community, said: “We welcome the voluntary recognition agreement we have just signed with BITC and are looking forward to working closely with them over the months and years ahead. People working in the third sector are no different from anyone else in that they need a pragmatic professional union in their corner and a strong collective voice at work. We will be looking to engage in positive and open dialogue in the interests of both BITC employees, and the charity itself.”
Community is the recognised union at Business in the Community, and is growing rapidly in the third sector. Find out more about our work in the sector here and join here today.
