Mental health affects everyone, whether personally or close family and friends with an estimated 1 in 4 people in the UK experiencing a mental health issue each year.

Every single one of us has a duty of care, and it is important that we not only look after our own mental health, but also the mental health of others. Everyone’s mental health is important, and as your union, we are here for you.

Evidence shows us that people can lose years off their lives as mental illnesses impact on their physical health too. This is one of the biggest health challenges of our time, and it remains largely unaddressed. This is especially prevalent in UK workplaces, with many workers and employees experiencing burnout, stress, anxiety and depression and unfortunately, due to the stigma around mental health, they don’t seek help.

How does Community help with mental health at work?

We’re committed to challenging the myths and stigma surrounding mental health whilst ensuring that those who are currently suffering have pathways leading to support and recovery.

We understand that mental health support isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ solution, and many factors play a role in determining how best to help people understand their condition whilst working toward a solution.
