Tracy Barlow

Seat held: Light industries sector representative

Tracy Barlow has been a part of the trade union movement for over 30 years. Her active role began in 1998 when she became a trade union rep with the knitwear, footwear and textiles union (now part of Community). During the merger of unions that created community, Tracy was re-elected into her committee position, giving her a platform to express the views and issues of members within her branch.

Tracy was also the first woman President of Community’s NEC, being elected into office in 2007. Tracy enjoys horse-riding in her spare time, particularly dressage and is a self-confessed animal lover.

I couldn’t not be in a union. Community are there to help with good and bad times, in any kind of employment. Being a union member gives you a voice and means you are never alone.
