Community prides itself on being a union that is there for members all the time, not just at work. Through ‘In your community’ and our regional charity fund, we help our members and branches support local causes that matter to their communities.
We are pleased to have made a donation of over £100 to Sailship Charity Clacton on Sea. This donation was made in the name of Rachael, a neighbour of a member who passed away in January this year aged 26. The money donated have been used to supply a memorial tree and equipment in Rachael’s memory.
The charity Sailship offer work and life skills training for all ages who have a learning difficulty through injury or illness. These include employability certificates, in kitchen or gardens. The charity has gone from strength to strength, and welcomes members of the public, care homes and schools to visit and explore the location.
