As a Community Recruitment Representative, you will be play a vital part in recruiting new members for Community, giving us more influence in the workplace, and in turn, your sector and government on issues that are affecting you and your colleagues.
The responsibilities of a Community Recruitment Representative include:
- Having a key part in negotiations.
- Co-ordination of recruitment of members into the branch.
- Mapping the workplace.
- Liaising with other reps across all shifts/departments regarding recruitment.
- Attending recruitment opportunities/events for Community.
What training is provided?
Community would never expect you to undertake this role without proper training. To ensure you are confident in your role as a Recruitment Representative our team offer in-person and virtual training on diverse topics to support you in your role. This includes, but is not limited to, your role and responsibilities, mapping your workplace/branch, how to recruit new members of the union, effective methods of recruitment and retention, negotiation and more.
If Community is recognised in your workplace, your workplace should offer facility time to cover your time training.

What are my rights?
As a Recruitment Representative, you have certain rights under employment law. These are set out in the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) code of practice. This includes time off for union duties.
