Voice, the education and early years section of Community Union has welcomed the Department for Education’s announcement (5 November 2021) on its climate change measures.
Deborah Lawson, Assistant General Secretary with Community Union’s Voice Community education section, said:
“We welcome the DfE’s plans for the curriculum and energy provision at this critical time, and that these measures span the full range of education from the early years to further education.
“These initiatives must be properly resourced and funded by the Government, and so we are pleased by the commitment that ‘teachers will be supported’ to deliver climate change education.
“We look forward to working with the Department to develop these plans into a clear and coherent strategy, building on existing good practice, to ensure they are truly worthy of the Education Secretary’s ‘world-leading’ ambition.”
