Over the last couple of months, many of you will have been getting those dreaded letters that your bills are increasing. We have seen that energy bills are sometimes doubling or even more, for people across the country.
The cost increases will be felt by us all, and currently the government has so far provided precious little support. Community will remain in our members corner as we go through this difficult time together.
One such example is at Capita EMS. Due to the combined hard work of Community representatives and the EMS management team, an uplift on car mileage payments has been agreed and backdated for the months March to June.
Capita employs over 800 people in their Electronic Monitoring Services division, and this increase will benefit all members who claim back fuel, so will be especially helpful to field workers such as Field Monitoring Officers.
We know the coming weeks and months will be difficult for many of us, and the inability of the government to step in further compounds the frustration. Your union will remain in your corner and support our members in the light industries every step of the way.
