Oldbury Community Union Learning Rep Jayne Wilkinson and AA Logistics Section Regional Secretary Dawn Whiting (pictured above) attended a Volunteer Arts & Craft class aimed to help members with their mental health and wellbeing.
The group, which met on 7th November, was set up by Jayne Wilkinson (pictured left) on a voluntary basis to support her colleagues in the workplace. The aim of the group is to provide safe spaces to explore creativity through Arts & Craft activities; reducing stress and anxiety and helping too build resilience and self-confidence.
It was supported by a Mental Health First Aid team and Kirstie Reeves, Business Divisional Assistant- RO – Roadside Customer Service.
Union Learning Rep (ULR) Jayne Wilkinson, who also serves as Branch Health and Safety Chair for the Oldbury AA section, said:
“In my role as a ULR its important to promote both formal and informal education and to encourage our colleagues to volunteer to run workshops to support the development of our volunteer group. It would be great if other union members wanted to come forward to become ULR’s in our workplace to further the aims of our union to build a better working world for employees in all the sectors we represent. A big thanks to Dawn Whiting who has been a great help to our local rep team.”
