During the coronavirus lockdown period, Community has been providing practical and financial support to local organisations across the country who are helping to deliver services and goods to families who need extra help during this difficult period. One of these organisations is Ambition Aspire Achieve (AAA), based in Newham, London.
The local charity provides opportunities for children and young people in Newham and the surrounding areas. Their volunteers have been working continuously throughout the pandemic to distribute essential support packages to the most vulnerable children and their families who aren’t receiving support from anywhere else.
The support packages give direct tangible help including core foods with cooking on a budget recipes, children’s books, games, arts and crafts materials and activity sheets. Recipients say it gives a tremendous boost knowing that others care, which in turn raises their confidence and resolve to get through their hard times and progress positively thereafter.
Community donated £200 through its Regional Charity Committee and this donation has gone directly to supporting families of disadvantaged children.

Kevin Jenkins, the Founder of Ambition Aspire Achieve said: “Your support is greatly appreciated and helping us greatly in making a difference for disadvantaged children and their families in Newham during the Covid-19 pandemic”.
As well as lockdown support packages, AAA delivers a wide range of project and services in the local community. Their work particularly focuses on and supports children and young people most in need, including those with disabilities or additional needs – this includes after school clubs, holiday play and youth activities, youth clubs, disability specific activities, detached youth projects, information advice and support for vulnerable young people, mentoring and personal development programmes, doorstep inclusive sports clubs and outward-bound activities and experiences.
