Pay rise secured at Zurich

We know that many of our members will be concerned about fuel costs, gas and electricity prices and inflation, and the impact this may have on their finances. We met with the company in November and commenced pay discussions. We felt that the offer must adequately reflect the current position of the members and the positive year the company has had so far.

Following positive talks with Zurich, this year’s pay talks concluded with a final pay pot increase of 5% at levels G5 and under and 4% at levels G6 and above.

We have guaranteed that all employees are included in this year’s pay award irrespective of where they sit in the range —including those sitting above 120% in the range. We have further ensured that distribution is fair and based on a simplified system which fully utilises the pot.

We were very pleased by the offer. After receiving feedback from our members, it is clear that there was a strong endorsement for this deal.

We want to say a massive thank you to Community reps who were involved with the talks, their input and representation was both constructive and well thought out, and it is due to their hard work that we have reached such a positive conclusion. The more members we have, the stronger our negotiating position will be so please continue to encourage your colleagues to join if they have not done so already.
