Justice Worker Week Interview: Tim Oxford

For Justice Worker Week, we are interviewing Community members on the frontline to hear about their experiences and the difference they make.

In our second interview, we hear from Community member and justice worker Tim Oxford.

What’s your name and where do you work?

My name is Tim Oxford. I work in the private prison sector.

How do you make a difference in your job?

I think myself and colleagues within the sector, we look to make a difference every day. It’s an incredibly difficult job, it’s an incredibly difficult sector, but we have great pride in what our colleagues and members do.

How does that make you feel?

The overriding sense is we are so proud of what we do, we’re so proud of the results we get. I think the private prison sector is not sung about nearly as much as it should be.

Join the union for justice and custodial workers today

Whatever your role is in the UK criminal justice system, we are here to protect you. We’re fighting for a better working world for everyone working across the justice sector, and we want you to join us.
