For Justice Worker Week, we are interviewing Community members on the frontline to hear about their experiences and the difference they make.
In our second interview, we hear from Community member and justice worker Lori-Anne Button.
What’s your name and where do you work?
Hello, my name’s Lori-Anne Button. I am an English teacher.
How do you make a difference in your job?
I make a difference in the justice sector by teaching ESOLT English and functional skills. I’m teaching up to level 2 which will give prisoners the chance on release to gain meaningful employment.
How does that make you feel?
That makes me feel really good. It makes me feel like I’m doing something to contribute towards society, to ensure that our streets are safer.
