Community welcomes new menopause and the workplace report

Community welcomes the new menopause and the workplace report published 28th July. Community has been making the case for years that menopause is not a women’s issue, but a workplace issue, and we are pleased to see the Women and Equalities Committee taking the same position in its report.

The committee’s report, which Community supported, rightly recognises that due to lack of support and proper protections, too many women are being pushed out of work because they are going through the menopause. This is completely unacceptable.

To make workplaces truly inclusive places for people going through the menopause, working people do not need to wait for the Government to appoint a Menopause Ambassador – they can join a union that is fighting for the rights of menopausal women.

Community members are fighting and winning across workplaces, and have already secured comprehensive menopause policies across industries from steel to finance. To secure a menopause policy in your workplace, join our campaign today.
