Community launches inaugural Justice Worker Week

Today (16th June 2025), Community has launched our inaugural Justice Worker Week, and we want you to join us in celebrating the achievements of justice, immigration and custodial workers.

The work they do is often overlooked, and is very much “out of sight, out of mind”. Through our Justice Worker Week, we aim to change that. We are proud of our members working across the justice sector, and they should be proud of themselves too.

Through our Keep Us Safe campaign, we are championing the rights of justice, immigration and custodial staff around health and safety, PPE and safeguarding. However, we believe it is also important that we recognise the positive work they do, both in work and in wider society.

That’s why throughout this week, we will be sharing videos, testimonials and blogs across social media and our website to highlight the important contributions our members across the sector deliver on a daily basis to keep our society safe.

Our National Secretary for the Justice and Custodial Sector, Gavin Miller, has heard personally all about the positive contributions our members make on a daily basis, and we want make people aware of exactly our members keep our society safe.

National Secretary for Justice, Gavin Miller has said:

“Justice workers in the private sector are unsung heroes who keep the public safe and ensure that our prisons, courts and wider justice and custodial system operates safely and effectively. Justice Worker Week is all about raising awareness of – and celebrating – their enormous contribution to our society.”

Make sure to follow us on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and BlueSky to comment, like and repost and raise awareness of the work our members do across the justice, custodial and immigration sector.
