Community is proud to announce Andrew Gutteridge as our new Vice-President.
Andrew, who is known by his colleagues and friends as Reggie, has been a member of our union for almost 30 years, and has served on our NEC since 2019. Hailing from the Gwent Valleys, he has worked at Llanwern Steelworks in Newport over the course of three decades, serving as Community’s Branch Secretary on site as well as the Chair of the Llanwern Multi-Union Committee.
Andrew continues to be a passionate advocate for the steel sector in South Wales, and led our march through Newport last weekend in support of Llanwern and the steel industry.
Away from steel, Andrew is also an active campaigner on behalf of veterans. As a former member of the Armed Forces, he led our union’s national campaign on ending veteran homelessness and spoke on the issue at the 2019 Labour Party Conference.
