CFC Annual Childcare Survey Welcomed

Community has welcomed the publication of the latest annual childcare survey report by Coram Family and Childcare, a fellow member of the Early Education and Childcare Coalition. You can read this year’s special edition report – the 25th published by Coram – on their website here.

Responding to the survey report, Community’s Early Years Lead Letitia McCalla said:

“We welcome the report and celebrate 25 years of the childcare survey.

“The report highlights that free government funded hours places have increased significantly which has allowed more children to access early education.

“The funded hours have reduced childcare costs for parents but they are still high due to providers having to increase costs for wrap-around care and school holidays, which results in parents still struggling to cover the cost.

“The report also confirms the disparity in SEND provision depending on where you live in the country which is concerning.

“Whilst it is positive that more children are able to access early years education, there is still work to be done to bring costs down for parents and ensure that all children have access to quality early years education.”
