Retired Members Network

Your last day in work before retiring can often be a happy but bittersweet moment. Whilst we look forward to the opportunities retirement can bring, there is also a tinge of sadness that we will no longer have the same regular interactions with colleagues, who in many cases will have become firm friends.

That’s why Community is launching out Retired Members Network, providing members with a new way of keeping in touch with old friends and colleagues through dedicated retired branches. The network will also help ensure that our retired members are able to continue participating fully in union events, activities and training.

We know that many of our retired members remain active members of the union, and we hope that the launch of this new network will encourage many others to follow suit.

What will the Community Retired Members Network offer?

  • Access to local and national social activities, hybrid and accessible events, community fundraising initiatives, and opportunities for connection beyond formal union activity.
  • Learning, training and education workshops covering everything from digital and financial skills, health and wellbeing sessions, and practical training on issues like wills and probate.
  • Access to bespoke communication from the union, including regular newsletters.
