Union recognition secured for GXO Warehouse Operatives in Crick

We are proud to announce that we have signed a formal recognition agreement with GXO Logistics UK Limited, meaning GXO now formally recognises Community to represent, consult and negotiate on behalf of Warehouse Operatives based at the Crick site in Northamptonshire.

Paul Warren, National Secretary for Logistics said:

“This agreement is another massive step forward for logistics workers across the GXO network. By securing formal recognition at DIRFT ADC3, we have ensured that warehouse operatives at the site have a strong, independent voice at the negotiating table.

We look forward to working constructively with GXO to champion our members’ interests and build a safer, fairer, and more rewarding working environment for everyone on site.”

Who is covered by this recognition agreement?

This recognition agreement covers Warehouse Operatives (Grades W1, W2, W3 and W4) at the Crick site in Northamptonshire.

What this agreement means for Community members at the Crick site

With this recognition agreement in place, Community is officially recognised as to consult, negotiate and represent employees within the bargaining unit at the Crick site. Key benefits for our members include:

Community will negotiate and consult directly with GXO management on key workplace matters, including:

  • Terms and conditions of employment, including holiday entitlements
  • Staffing structures, pay structures, and job evaluations
  • Staff training and development opportunities
  • Health, safety, and employee welfare
  • Employment policies, procedures, and disciplinary machinery
  • Statutory consultations, including individual/collective redundancies and TUPE transfers
  • Any terms agreed upon through collective bargaining will be incorporated directly into workers’ employment contracts.

Further to the above, Community representatives will now be elected to represent members on-site. GXO will provide these representatives with reasonable paid time off for duties and training, plus private meeting space and equipment such as PCs or laptops. GXO have also committed to meeting with Community representatives to address local issues and review business updates, supporting open and transparent communication.

This agreement also provides a four-stage process for resolving collective grievances quickly, fairly and constructively, while protecting existing terms during negotiations.

By signing this agreement, GXO have committed to a shared commitment to constructive industrial relations. Community is proud to expand its footprint within GXO, ensuring that our members at the Crick site are supported, respected and heard.
