Community members in Oldbury attended an event to promote a learning culture in the workplace today in another successful collaboration between the AA’s Learning and Development team and the union’s ULR rep.
Working with colleagues and supported by Community’s Trainee Project coordinator Chris Segal, elected ULR rep Jayne Wilkinson spoke to members of staff about the benefits of the free and low cost professional educational courses that could be accessed as a Community member. Supporting her AA colleagues from the Learning and Development team, Jayne also discussed the company’s offers to her colleagues which included free access to LinkedIn learning, which colleagues can access through the AA hub My Learning App .
Jayne Wilkinson Oldbury ULR rep said:
“Although the event was shorter than originally planned, the interest from those we engaged with was very positive and we’ve put a presentation event table together for colleagues to access all the great learning and development opportunities on display. We are hoping for an increased take up of our members signing up to our online courses.
“As a proactive workplace ULR rep, I will continue to support The AA’s L&D team by engaging in conversations with colleagues and offering support to those seeking information about CPD opportunities. We will also be producing a local Oldbury Lifelong learning newsletter for those staff that wish to subscribe, as well as displaying a copy on the 12 noticeboards the union has access to at the Oldbury centre of excellence call centre.”
