Zurich Insurance have recently announced that they have joined nearly 6000 other UK employers committed to paying the Real Living Wage. This includes their contractors and subsidiary companies. This development comes as a result of another organisation that recognises Community, Capita, also becoming Real Living Wage employers.
Caroline Taylor, National Secretary at Community, said:
“For a number of years Community have been in discussion with Zurich through the annual pay talks to address amongst other things pay progression, forced distribution and ensure lower paid employees are looked after through pay deals.
“We have a good working relationship with Zurich, working constructively and proactively to improve the experiences of the workforce on a regular basis. This is yet another positive example of a successful working partnership between Community and Zurich.”
“Well done Zurich – let’s hope more organisations step up and follow suit.”
Stefanie Foulerton, Head of People Performance at Zurich Insurance, said:

t’s been great to work in partnership with Community Trade Union to support us in being recognised as a Real Living Wage employer. Equality and transparency are both really important to us, and paying the living wage is one element of making sure we continue to be a fair and inclusive employer.”
