Community are thrilled to celebrate a landmark moment for our Early Years sector; Norland College has officially achieved university title, becoming Norland University of Early Childhood, the world’s very first university dedicated entirely to early childhood education and care.
Founded in 1892, Norland is the world’s oldest childcare training institution, and this transition marks a well-deserved recognition of Norland’s world-class training, outstanding academic standards, and centuries-long legacy. Achieving full university status cements its position as a global pioneer in early years study, placing early childhood development at the very centre of higher education.
As their recognised trade union, we send our heartfelt congratulations to the Vice Chancellor, academic staff and operational teams whose dedication has made this milestone possible.
We are equally delighted to warmly welcome Set 150 as they step through the doors to commence their studies. Joining this iconic learning provider is always a prestigious journey, but as the inaugural cohort entering under the official university title, Set 150 holds a truly unique place in Norland’s rich history.
