Responding to UK Steel’s announcement of Peter Brennan as their new Director General, Community Assistant General Secretary Alasdair McDiarmid said:
“We welcome Peter Brennan to his new role as Director General. Peter brings a wealth of technical expertise with him to the role, and we look forward to working closely with him and UK Steel on the many important issues which affect our members working across the steel industry.
“We would also like to place on our record our thanks to Gareth Stace for his work as Director General over the last 12 years, which have coincided with incredibly challenging times for our steel sector. We have appreciated his dedication to the industry, and his readiness to work in partnership with Community – including through robust lobbying of successive governments. We wish Gareth all the best for the future.”
