The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is working in partnership with Community Union to deliver the Mayoral Priority Skills Fund. About the project
This project is designed to address priority skills shortages and enhance employees’ learning and career prospects through union-led initiatives. We’re committed to fostering inclusive growth and ensuring everyone has access to opportunities. This project is being ran alongside Skills Connect and the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.
What we do
- Skills Needs Analysis: We conduct thorough research to pinpoint specific skills gaps within local workplaces. To take part, please complete this learning survey.
- Union Learning Rep (ULR) Recruitment: We recruit and train ULRs who champion learning in the workplace, guide individuals towards career advancement, and connect them with relevant training programs, resources, and support for employability.
- Workplace-Based Learning and Support: We collaborate with employers to deliver high-quality training and support programs directly within workplaces, including specialized support for those facing redundancy.
- Inclusive Participation: We ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to benefit from this project.

- Employment skills including career coaching and advise.
- English and Math.
- Digital and technology.
- Redundancy Support
