Community Union Responds to Reform’s claim to stand up for working people

Roy Rickhuss CBE, General Secretary of Community Union Said:

“Today’s speech by Nigel Farage is another piece of theatre with no real substance. Farage claims that his Reform Party stands up for workers, but nothing could be further from the truth.

“The Reform Party under Farage has consistently voted against the interests of working people. Rejecting the Employment Rights Bill, backed by Labour and workers. If Farage truly believed in supporting workers, he would have walked through the voting lobbies with Labour MPs to put action to words. Instead, Reform MPs voted against it and voted against working people.

“That’s what personifies Reform and Nigel Farage. Hollow and populist words with no substance, no action, to be dropped as soon as is politically expedient.

“It’s Labour that was founded by workers. Labour has stood, and continues to stand, with working people and their interests. Workers will see through the sheep’s clothing and back 125 years of action by Labour, over a few hours of hot air by Reform.“
