Community is delighted to announce that the union will sit on the Skills Development Scotland Apprenticeship Development Group.
As the leading union for dental nurses, Community will have input into the development of the apprenticeship for the profession, including the design of National Occupational Standards (NOS) and qualifications which underpin the apprenticeship scheme.
The Apprenticeship Development Group will meet several times to develop all aspects of the apprenticeship standard and framework; including the structure and content of the apprenticeship, its length and duration, and any enhancements that should be included to the scheme.
Community’s Assistant Director of Operations Tiffany Gillies said
“As the lead union for dental nurses, we are proud to be part of the Skills Development Scotland Working Group on apprenticeships.
“We will seek to use this as an opportunity to ensure that dental nursing apprenticeships in Scotland fully meet the needs of the profession, and that training for the apprenticeship provides participants with all the support they need to excel in a role which forms a crucial part of every dental team.”
