It is with great sadness that we learn of the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
Roy Rickhuss CBE, General Secretary of Community, reflected:
“Queen Elizabeth II has been our Queen and dedicated public servant for the last 70 years of the United Kingdom’s history.
Throughout those years, the UK has faced a number of challenges, changes, and opportunities. Throughout it all, she remained a devoted and faithful leader guided by an unwavering sense of duty.
I once had the great honour of meeting Her Majesty to speak about the issues faced by our members and their communities. She gracefully took the time to understand our members’ concerns, and I believe many of our achievements wouldn’t have been accomplished without her support.
On behalf of Community, I would like to express my most sincere condolences to the Royal Family during what is an incredibly sad time.”
