Community General Secretary to join Industrial Strategy Advisory Council

Community is delighted to announce that our General Secretary, Roy Rickhuss CBE, has been appointed to the new Industrial Strategy Advisory Council. The independent body will advise government on the development and delivery of a UK industrial strategy, and monitor progress on its objectives.

The new council, which will report to directly to the Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds MP and Chancellor of Exchequer Rachel Reeves MP, will incorporate leading voices from British business, finance, academia and the labour movement.

Community General Secretary Roy Rickhuss CBE said:

“I am pleased to have been appointed to the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council, and look forward to working with government and fellow council members to help shape a much-needed national industrial strategy. This is something our members – particularly those working in sectors like steel – have been calling for over the course of many years.

“The formation of this council represents an important signal of intent from the government, and it is important that all stakeholders work together to ensure we get a comprehensive plan of action for British industry which supports and meets the ambitions of working people across the country.”
