Yesterday Community Wales presented Valleys Kids with a cheque for £500 to go towards supporting families across the Rhondda Cynon Taf area.
Community’s National Secretary for Wales Alun Davies and our Learning Organiser Lisa Francis were on hand to present the cheque to Elise Stewart from Valleys Kids at The Factory in Porth (pictured).
Valleys Kids is a community development charity that, since 1978, has provided essential support, advice and opportunities to people of all ages in Rhondda Cynon Taf. The charity provides a range of services and activities, including youth work, family work, playwork, youth arts, visual arts and more.
Community’s Regional Secretary for Wales Alun Davies said:
“Community are proud to support families and communities in the Rhondda Cynon Taf area in the hope to improving their self esteem and quality of life through learning.
“We look forward to working closely and supporting Valleys Kids for many years to come.”
Community’s Learning Organiser Lisa Francis said:
“As a union with membership right across the South Wales Valleys, we are very proud to be able to show our support for Valleys Kids and the great work they do. From empowering young people to strengthening communities across Rhondda Cynon Taf, their impact is incredible.”
