Charity fund helps First Light Trust

Community prides itself on being a union that is there for members all the time, not just at work. Through our regional charity fund, we help our members and branches support local causes that matter to their communities.

Community activist Jan Bownes (right) successfully applied through her local Community Branch for a £200 donation towards veteran support charity First Light Trust’s work in Hereford.

Community has a long-standing relationship with the trust through our work supporting veteran homelessness.  Hereford has a strong network of veteran support due to the city’s long and proud association with the military, not least the SAS.

Centre Manager Sian Walshe said:

“This money is so welcome. Our work in Hereford is very important to the First Light Trust as we look to expand the services that we can offer veterans in need.

“We want to thank Community and Jan for all of their support.”

Community has further plans to work with the First Light Trust as our partnership with them continues to grow.
