Community members working in Prisoner Escort and Custody Services told us that additional PPE – like body warn cameras – would make a big difference to their safety. They would reduce assaults, give people more confidence at work and ultimately, make them safer at work.
Other workers whose roles involve protecting the public, like the police and many prison officers, have had access to body worn cameras for many years.
We believe Prisoner Escorting and Custody Officers should have access to body worn cameras too. We need your help to make the Government listen.
That’s why we are asking you to email your MP and ask them to demand that the Government make body worn cameras available to all Prisoner Escort and Custody Services Officers.
