This year has been truly remarkable for our representatives at the AA. The commitment to learning and development has been evident throughout, culminating in an impressive 12 months of progress and achievement. The final ‘levelling up’ session for 2025, delivered by Paul Parker, Employee Relations Specialist for Roadside, marked the end of this journey. Caroline Green, Head of Employee Relations, attended to offer her support and congratulate all involved on the year’s success.
By working collaboratively through policy and process and discussing changes in legislation, the group was able to deepen their understanding and explore the most effective ways to support members moving forward.
Community union regional secretary at the AA Paul Thomas, who himself was a former trainer at the AA, has worked closely with Paul Parker and shared insights from years of experience working with the business in the logistics sector to establish joint learning pathways.
This collaborative approach reflects an ongoing effort to enhance outcomes and strengthen training across union branches. While previous work with Employee Relations focused on delivering training and a framework, the latest session was the first to examine policy in detail, marking an important step forward in developing expertise and best practice.
Paul Warren, Community’s National Secretary for the Logistics sector, said:
“The training sessions had been inspirational in engaging with other businesses to deliver the same, encouraging our reps to work closely with businesses.”
Paul Thomas said
“This is a major step forward in achieving better outcomes for our colleagues, working together to deliver the best we can, reducing costs for the business and keeping important conversations going, we look forward to planning for 2026 and delving deeper in to employment law.”
