Update: Emergency support for the Third Sector
As a result of the financial strain put on many organisations due to the coronavirus outbreak, particularly those in the third sector, many have taken the difficult decision to move to a restructuring process.
As an employee you have a number of rights during a redundancy consultation including being fairly consulted. If you are working in the third sector, we can help.
Get in touch with us at thirdsector@community-tu.org and we can discuss how we can support you through this process.
Community and the Third Sector
As a general union, we have members from across each sector of the UK economy and thousands of people working for charities, not for profit organisations, community organisations, social enterprises and other third sector organisations have taken the decision to be a part of our union.
We know that in the third sector, workers are often required to go beyond the call of duty to serve their cause. We want to make sure that anyone who is putting in that extra work is appreciated and any changes are done in consultation with the workforce.
Our collective strength in the third sector continues to grow as organisations of varying sizes have taken the next step and signed recognition agreements with the union. This means that through the union, their workforce are able to come together and constructively engage with the organisation when it comes to pay as well as terms and conditions.
As an organisation that exists to secure a better working world for everyone in the UK, we love working with individuals and organisations with a similar mission to improve the lives of everyday people.
Take a look at our document ‘Working in Partnership’ where we take a detailed look at our working relationship with those in the third sector:
Working in Partnership with small charitiesFrom the brave people on the front line – to the vital back-office support staff, fundraisers, marketing and administrative staff. We are proud to support those working in the third sector.
