Community is proud of its diversity and equality. We represent members and their families across all industries and sectors in the UK. Unlike many other unions that specialise in specific job markets, Community is proud to be an inclusive organisation; welcoming anyone as a member, regardless of the sector they work in, how they work, or where they live. In this section we talk about some of the sectors we currently support.

Working with Logistics
Community has a growing membership across the UK logistics sector.

In particular, we are the recognised union at two leading logistics companies – XPO and Whistl.

Within XPO we represent members at a number of sites within its e-commerce business. We are also the recognised union within XPO’s bulk fuels division, including for contracts within Tesco, Harvest and Fuel Support.

As part of Community’s offer to professional drivers, we include our Driver Care Plus package of support as part of your membership, which provides additional peace of mind with:

• £10,000 for permanent loss of licence due to accidental injury, disability, illness, poor eyesight or assault.*
• £10,000 in the event of licence being revoked and the member being permanently disqualified from holding a licence as a direct result of injury, illness or disability.*

We have a broad and experienced rep base within XPO and we offer our reps additional training to keep them up to speed.

Community is the union for Whistl, the specialist mail and delivery company, formerly called TNT Post, representing all workers in the sortation depots and all drivers. We also support and represent self-employed and contract workers in the sector.

Since starting to represent Whistl workers we have ended zero hours contracts and helped our members achieve a living wage.

Community has set up a network of workplace representatives throughout all depots of Whistl to ensure that the union stays close to its members. Further updates regarding Whistl can be found in the News section.

We are forming new partnerships in the logistics sector and developing benefits and services to support self-employed parcel delivery workers. If you want to find out how we can help you please contact us  for further information or call our Service Centre on 0800 389 6332.
