Education and Early Years

Community is proud to represent people working in the education and early years sector.

Following a merger of unions, Voice Community is now the education and early years section of Community. You can find out about all of our work in the sector and access sector specific advice and guidance here.

We are an education union and have a dedicated team who work tirelessly to represent those working or training to work in the education and the early years sectors. This ensures that you have the support, guidance, and representation of a modern union while we deal with any issues that arise – allowing you to focus on your career. We represent anyone who works in education and early years, including:

  • Nannies
  • Early Years and Childcare – nursery, crèche, SENCO, private or local authority;
  • Heads and Leaders – primary, secondary, FE or HE;
  • Teachers and Tutors – primary, secondary, FE, HE, supply or self-employed;
  • Support Staff – in classroom, mid-day supervisor, administration or maintenance team;
  • Students – on full-time vocational courses; and
  • Newly Qualified – following a full-time vocational course.

Any legal and casework services are provided by us and our trained reps. We are based across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to ensure that your issues are dealt with promptly and effectively. This includes support with disciplinaries and competency issues, early retirement, assault and false allegations in the workplace as well as discrimination and unfair dismissal.

Unfortunately these issues are a common occurrence that staff in education and early years face, however you do not have to face them alone when you have us to fight your corner.

We are also recognised in schools, universities, colleges, and nurseries across the UK and are encouraging anyone working within education and early years to join so that you have a collective voice with issues such as TUPEs and redundancies.

Join today and secure the voice that you deserve.
