“We look forward to hearing about all of the amazing causes our donations will support.”

A local bowling club in Paisley has recently received a boost in donations towards a defibrillator with the help of a local rep and his trade union, Community.

Community branch secretary Paul Rush reached out to Community by applying to the Regional Charity fund, a pot of money reserved exclusively for good causes and projects across the UK. The money granted to Paul is part of a bigger fundraising campaign to install a defibrillator on the grounds of his local bowling club, improving health and safety for the club and the surrounding area.

Speaking after the cheque presentation, Community Scotland’s regional team said:

“Ever since this fund was established, we have had the opportunity to contribute towards some amazing initiatives.

“Across all of Community’s regional offices, we have helped a young girl with cerebral palsy, a mental health exercise group, a bike ride for a local hospice and many more great projects.

“We hope our members continue to apply to this fund, and we look forward to hearing about all of the amazing causes our donations will support.”
