Community Member Support Fund

Our Community Member Support Fund is designed for members most affected by the Coronavirus crisis. It’s to enable the union to spread support as widely and to as many as it possibly can. It won’t resolve long term hardship, but it could provide a little short-term help.

As we always say, with Community in your corner, you are never alone.

Applications are open to members who can demonstrate they are experiencing significant impact due to:

  • Short-time working
  • Lay-off or furloughing
  • Sickness, without Company Sick Pay
  • Redundancy
  • Self-isolation
  • Vulnerability
  • Severe financial difficulty.

The aim of the fund is to provide small cash grants to as many members as we are able. This is why the amount is capped at £250 for those in most severe need.

We may not be able to help everyone who applies and each application will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

You will need to be on a current working member rate to apply and to have had 12 months membership of Community (although exceptions could be made for the most vulnerable).
