Community works with Capital Credit Union to offer Community members access to various banking services, such as savings accounts, loans and mortgages. Credit Unions are run by members and the board of directors are all volunteers, and support people regardless of financial background.
Capital Credit Union launched in 1989 and currently has 23,000 members. Membership is now open to members of Community.
A credit union is a bit like a bank, offering very similar services, such as savings accounts, loans and mortgages however unlike banks, Credit Unions are a Not for Profit organisation. Each member holds a £1 share in the credit Union and
any profit made is invested back into the company generating a dividend for members, competitive interest rates and improving services. Credit Unions are run by members and the board of directors are all volunteers.
