Equalities Conference 2023

After a short break, the annual Community Equalities Conference is back! This is a great opportunity to meet with the Community Equalities team, Equalities Representatives and fellow members to assess the impact of equalities policies, discuss professional issues impacting you and other minority groups, and share your experiences in a safe and inclusive environment.

This year our equality conference will include speakers from a range of organisations that Community work closely in alliance with. You will receive useful information, resources and access to toolkits to support the work you do in your own workplaces.

Join us on Thursday, 19 October from 11am to 3.30pm virtually, or in person by registering your interest below. Limited availability to in-person attendees. Speakers include:

  • Jennifer Dean: Jennifer is the Head of Equalities at Community and will updating you on the latest equality news and campaigns for equality at Community. 
  • Kudsia Batool: Kudsia is the TUC’s Head of Equalities and Strategy, her responsibilities include equalities policy, the TUC’s Anti-Racism Task Force and TUC strategy.  
  • Talullah Bellassie-Page: Tallulah is a Senior Policy and Campaigns officer at the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and a specialist in stalking, harassment and online safety policy for violence against women and girls (VAWG).   
  • Tiffany Gillies: Tiffany is Community’s Head of Education and leads on education and training for workplace representatives. 
  • Kate Moran: Kate is a Senior Policy Officer at Maternity Action and will be sharing information and resources that Community’s Alliance with Maternity Action offers for Community reps and members.    
  • Katie Hinton: Katie, one of our own union lawyers at Waldron’s, has 20 years of experience dealing with personal injury claims. 
  • Julia Tindsley-Kent: Julia manages policy, public affairs , press and communications activities at the Migrant Rights Network.  She is an LGBTQ+ activist and involved in numerous movements at a grassroots level. 
  • Riz Hussain: Riz, the Race Equality Officer at the TUC, is active on race equality policy matters both inside and outside of the trade union movement.
