Community signs new agreement with UK carers

9th March 2018

Community have recently signed a new agreement with a care company in the UK.

Shepshed Carers is a Home and Social Care provider cooperative based in Leicester which provides a high standard of care for service users including personal care, dementia care and domestic services.

On Wednesday 7th March, Community and Shepshed signed a Memorandum of understanding to establish a working partnership in what is quickly becoming an established sector for Community. Those who work in the Home and Social Care Sector for private or not for profit organisations and charities aren’t always thought of when it comes to front line care, something these agreements and partnerships aim to change.

Community will now be working closely with Shepshed Carers to provide a voice for workers, as well as listen to and support them in the difficult roles they carry out.

Sarah Pollard, founder of the Shepshed said “We work in a broken sector where small organisations struggle to survive. I look forward to working with Community and providing a support network for workers in the home and social care sector”

Gavin Miller, Regional Secretary said “We have a growing membership in the Sector and signing up to the MOU partnership has proven that Shepshed Carers are good employers who care deeply about the workforce as well as the clients who use the care services they provide”.

Community is now active in more sectors than ever before, and can support you throughout your working life.
