Community rep David Wing, with support from Community and his colleagues, will be taking part in a long bicycle ride in an effort to raise vital funds for Bluebell Wood, a children’s hospice in North Anston that offers care and support to children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions.
David, with the support of his local NEC member Clive Royston, completed a successful application to one Community’s regional charity funds, increasing the money he was able to raise for the charity.
Speaking after the cheque presentation, Clive said “It’s great that we have local funds in place to support the work our members undertake in their communities. As important as it is that we continue our great national campaigns, all of the local campaigns, fundraisers and projects across the UK also make a positive and direct impact on our members, their families and the communities they live in.”
Community’s Regional Charity fund is £500 available every 3 months for local charities and good causes supported by Community members in their branches. If you are a member with a charity or good cause you believe Community could support, you can apply online by clicking this link.
