Workers at two leather factories represented by the trade union Community came together this week to support each other during three days of industrial action.
Both Langs and NCT, based in Scotland, saw members take action against their employers over pay. The members have decided to strengthen their message as workers and representatives of their industry by standing together.
Steve Farrell, Regional Secretary for Community Scotland, said:
“This is a difficult and uncertain time for our members, so the fact that the two different workplaces have found a common interest and are working together is great to hear.
“Solidarity between leather workers is making a positive difference to morale, and the strength of feeling and determination is growing, with more messages of support coming in every day.”
Community represents different sectors across the UK, and we are working together everyday to make sure our members get a fair deal.
