Community Comments is an informal blog by Community officers and staff about policy issues that are in or around the news.
Contributions should not be taken as formal statements of Community policy, which is made by our Biennial Delegate Conference or our National Executive Council.
Contributions will often cover areas where there is yet no settled Community policy or delve further into issues where we have formal policy. We want to give people something to think about and avoid just repeating press lines or policy statements. So if you want to know the union’s formal position, this should be sought elsewhere from our media team or minutes or reports of our conference or NEC.
Some subjects may get more coverage than others. This should not be taken as any indication of Community’s priorities, just a reflection of the hooks available for issues or the availability of staff time to write a blog.
